To learn more about our Customer Solution Centers - Watch This Video What makes this role exciting?You will have the opportunity to work on the leading edge of Server, Storage and Networking technologies and build systems to assist customers in making the best possible decisions for their HPC requirements.You will interact with worldwide specialists and customers in all industries from Academia, Life Sciences to Manufacturing and Finance and contribute to Dell’s mission to drive human progress through technology.Read more to learn about joining an exciting fast-paced, high-performance team supporting the Global Sales business.Principle Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Solutions Architect is primarily responsible for delivering Proofs-of-Concept, Technical Briefings and Architectural Design Sessions to customers and partners, and in doing so meeting and exceeding customer expectationsBe a Subject Matter Expert in Data Center infrastructure focusing on Server, High Performance Computing, and Hyper Converged solutionsYou will work with the sales & product group teams to provide feedback & suggestions for improvement, competitive strengths and weaknesses, lab inventory and planning for upcoming product releases.Support CSC communications plans by documenting the solutions you are responsible for and documenting success stories, using blogs, social media feeds etcEssential Requirements:Deep System and Architecture Expertise: A comprehensive understanding of heterogeneous HPC architectures—including modern CPUs, GPUs, high-speed fabrics (InfiniBand), memory hierarchies, and parallel file systems (BeeGFS, Pixstor)—along with the ability to tune BIOS, OS, and system-level parameters for maximum throughput.Rigorous Benchmarking Expertise: Extensive experience with synthetic benchmarks (HPL, HPCG, Stream) and real-world scientific and technical workloads, including optimizing application compilation and runtime parameters.Proficiency in Parallel Paradigms and Profiling Tools: Advanced knowledge of parallel programming models (MPI, OpenMP, CUDA, ROCm) paired with hands-on expertise in using performance analysis, profiling, and tracing tools (e.g., NVIDIA Nsight, Intel VTune, Score-P) to pinpoint bottlenecks in compute, memory, and I/O.Bachelors with 10+ years of experience in a relevant roleStrong experience in Redhat Linux, Ubuntu, and SUSE LinuxStrong knowledge on AMD High Performance ComputingKnowledge of storage concepts: VSAN, NAS, SCSI, RAID, Storage Groups, volumes etc.Exceptional technical, verbal communication and presentation skillsDesirable Requirements:Experience within complex customer environments especially within core Dell technology offeringsGood scripting abilitiesPrior Hands-on and architecture experience using various hardware and software platforms including Windows and VMwareHigh-speed network components and InfiniBand SwitchingClustering software such as Bright Cluster Manager and job schedulers such as Slurm and PBSProParallel File Systems like Lustre and BeeGFSNFS storage systems like PowerScaleContainer management platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, & Singularity.
