OverviewThe ArcGIS Online team leads the development of core web GIS technologies, applications, and user experiences. Our team of engineer’s designs, tests, and delivers new capabilities for ArcGIS Online, Esri’s SaaS-based mapping and analytics platform. As a Product Engineer, you will contribute throughout the product development lifecycle from brainstorming ideas and designing solutions to validating quality and supporting releases.We foster a collaborative environment that emphasizes mentorship, innovation, and continuous learning. Join our fast-paced, dynamic team and help shape The Science of Where.ResponsibilitiesPlan, design, test, and release components within the ArcGIS Online platform across AWS, Azure, and VMware infrastructureContribute to implementation design, backend API quality assurance, and improvements to cloud-based software update processesAssist in the design, testing, and validation of security features that enhance ArcGIS OnlinePerform functional and workflow-driven testing, including both manual and automated testing, to ensure product quality and release readinessTroubleshoot, investigate, and triage customer-reported issuesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and integrate solutions into the platformCreate and share technical content through help documentation, blog posts, tutorials, conference presentations, and sample workflowsRequirements2+ years of experience in GIS technologies (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, or similar) and software testing or software development within an engineering environmentExperience creating and executing test plans and test automation for UI and/or web servicesHands-on experience deploying and managing applications in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including services like EC2, S3, SQS, Azure Virtual Machines, Storage, Kubernetes, or similar technologiesUnderstanding of REST APIs and web servicesExperience automating workflows through scriptingStrong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skillsPassion for building and delivering high-quality softwareStrong organizational, time management, and communication skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsBachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, GIS, Geography, or a related fieldRecommended QualificationsMaster’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, GIS, Geography, or a related fieldExperience with deployment of automation tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), or Helm chartsUnderstanding of cloud-native architecture and design principlesKnowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or DB2Experience with testing frameworks such as Selenium, JMeter, or ReadyAPIExperience building and delivering software productsExperience with Java, Python, or other scripting languages#LI-Onsite#LI-OH1Total RewardsEsri’s competitive total rewards strategy includes industry-leading health and welfare benefits: medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance for employees (and their families), 401(k) and profit-sharing programs, minimum accrual of 80 hours of vacation leave, twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy.
